Making our movie

Sometimes we do things that we know are going to be hard even before we start. Making our movie "YOU" was one such thing. We made the film in 18 days, cut it over the next year and a half and just now are ready to let the world in and the movie out. "YOU" is my directorial debut and I am very proud and excited to give the film wings.

At the end of March, my husband, co-producer, co-star and writer of the film, and I, plan on releasing "YOU" on the Internet. You will all be able to download the film from iTunes, Amazon and HULU.

As I wrap up my last two weeks on Broadway starring as Roxie Hart in CHICAGO, I am excited to watch "YOU" leave my hands and come into your living rooms, your computers, iphones and dvd players. This is a risky and modern way to release a film, but we made the film in a risky way; funding it ourselves, with wonderful talent from our personal circle of family and friends in just over two weeks, with lot's of passion and heart. I know that all comes across in this extremely personal love story that spans 21 years and weaves a kind of family quilt of love and loss, speckled with magic realism, that is both a coming of age story for the father and his daughter as well as a story about strength, vulnerability and courage in overcoming grief and finding love again.

I hope anyone who is reading this will realize how much your support of my film means to me. Making "YOU" was truly a labor of love from start to finish and it's success in the world will mean I can make another film this way, which was so fulfilling, challenging and wonderful—it's hard to put into words. With your support, the movie will do what movies are supposed to do; be watched, move people, make us laugh, cry and feel. This film is a deep creative expression of mine and my family and I do hope you will purchase it in some form or another whether it be a 24 hour download, one you can have forever in your library or even a packaged DVD that I'll sign for you if you send it in to my P.O. Box which is here on my web site.

Thank you for all of your interest in me and my work and thank you in advance for anyone who feels inspired to help make the release of "YOU" a success!

With Gratitude
